The police have started a preliminary investigation into a suspected data protection offense related to Satakunda welfare area.

The background is the advisory confusion regarding Savoah Partners. In Satagunda Health Board, consultants are allowed to view and listen to patient information without permission. According to the welfare department, cases have occurred in nine health facilities.

Clients of the welfare section are not asked to contact each other and are not required to file new crime reports. The criminal headings of the case will be mentioned during the preliminary hearing.

Five people working in healthcare reported this to the MoD.

The welfare sector reported potential data protection deviations to the Data Protection Commissioner. By law, only a person who has a therapeutic relationship with the patient can view patient information.
