Founder of the Nigerian megachurch Synagogue Church of All Nations TB Joshua He claims to have raped and tortured members of his church for up to 20 years BBC.

A two-year investigation by the BBC revealed dozens of eyewitness observations, according to which Joshua, whose full name is Demidope Balogun Joshua, would, among other things, whip and chain his “students” and inflict violence on children.

Additionally, many women claim to have been abused or raped by Joshua. Some of the raped women became pregnant, and Joshua allegedly forced them to have abortions.

For example, British Ray Ray tried to commit suicide several times because of Joshua's abuse of her. Ray joined the church in 2002 at the age of 21, and spent 12 years at the megachurch's headquarters in Nigeria's capital, Lagos.

Namibian Jessica Kaimu On the other hand, she said she was 17 years old when she was raped by Joshua for the first time. Subsequent rapes led to five forced abortions.

– They are backroom type actions that we need to take. We could be dead, Keimu said.

Joshua, who died in 2021, founded the megachurch in 1987. Owns Emmanuel TV, a Christian television channel that broadcasts worldwide.

Synagogue of All Nations has millions of followers on social media.

In 2013, The Guardian reported that 50,000 people attended weekly services at the Synagogue of All Nations, more than the weekly attendance at Buckingham Palace and the Tower of London combined.

The megachurch has not responded to the BBC's allegations.
