Lahti Highway Chain Accident, Car Hits Moose – 10 Injured, Northbound Lanes Closed | Brief message

Police have temporarily closed the northbound lanes of the Lahti Highway at the Kerava exit.

Itä-Uusimaa police say that a traffic accident involving several cars is causing significant traffic disruptions on the Lahti highway.

According to the Itä-Uusimaa Police Department, six cars were involved in the accident. Just after 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, police said the first car in a chain reaction hit the moose, according to current information. 10 people involved in the accident have been hospitalized.

At around 7:30 pm on Wednesday, the police received information from the emergency center about a traffic accident involving several cars on the Lahti highway.

Police have temporarily closed the northbound lanes of the Lahti Highway at the Kerava exit. Police are directing traffic at the scene and recommending alternate routes.

According to police estimates, traffic will be completely stopped for at least an hour.

Information about the accident in Central Uusimaa Rescue Service news service X. Traffic will be diverted to the old road via Kerawa Bend, the release said.
