Romania feast with three-goal win – Ukraine reach deciding points only in closing moments | game

On Monday, Romania opened the final European football tournament in Munich with a beautiful victory. Romania fended off Ukraine ineffectively and ran out 3-0 winners in the preliminary Group E match thanks to goals from Nicolae Stanciu, Razvan Marin and Denis Dragus.

Ukraine attacked unimaginably and got into good scoring position as Romania raced to a 3-goal lead at the end of the game.

Close-guarded Romania took control of the game in the 29th minute with captain Stanciu’s stunning opening goal. Stanciu curled a curling shot from 20 meters into the top corner from Dennis Mann’s cross.

Marin completed Romania’s 2-0 goal from 22 meters in the 53rd minute. The ball went easily under Ukraine goalkeeper Andriy Lun and into the goal. Four minutes later, the man set up Dragus in an open space in front of Ukraine’s goal.

Leading by three goals, Romania had their best chance when they let their defense down.

In the 64th minute, Andriy Zharmolenko’s shot went wide. Romanian goalkeeper Florin Nida saved a powerful shot by Georgi Sudakov in the 77th minute, and Mihailo Mudric’s free kick in the 80th minute was stunning.

Ukraine will face Slovakia and Romania will face Belgium next.
